What should I do to prevent catching and spreading the coronavirus? Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use a sanitiser gel. Catch coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues. Throw away used tissues (then wash hands). If you don't have a tissue, use your sleeve. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
Advice for people who think they may have coronavirus. Step 1, do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Step 2, Visit 111.nhs.uk/covid-19 for advice. Step 3, you and your household will be required to self isolate as per current recommendations. Step 4, Keep up to date with the latest guidance from the NHS website. Step 5, contact your family and friends for support with shopping and collecting prescriptions. Step 6, contact the NHS on 111 if you are concerned or if you become very unwell.
